Trainee Program
Professional Division Program for young Adults 

The Company Trainee Program draws on the synergy of this institutional symbiosis to prepare advanced students aged of 18 and older for the transition into a professional career. Under the personal guidance of director and choreographer Carole Alexis, who is renowned for her method of teaching clean and strong technique and developing artistic sensibility, trainees are to study, make noticeable progress in the advanced levels, rehearse, and perform alongside the professional dancers of Carole Alexis Dance Theatre /Ballet des Amériques.

CABT is looking for mature individuals who are eager for in-depth work, detail-oriented, open-minded, and motivated. 

We are bringing together dance artists who possess the desire for the advancement, growth, and development of the company and themselves. Please note that the repertoire is musically and technically challenging. 

Ballet des Amériques/Carole Alexis Ballet Theatre is not a repertory company, nor a union company. 

The company presents and disseminates the work of choreographer Carole Alexis. Carole Alexis's choreographic writing is multicultural and takes roots in the African Diaspora.

Your video will be used as a pre-registration. The video should contain the original soundtrack of the music.

1- Your video is reviewed

2 - You are registered and confirmed for the audition 

3 - The subject line should include "Carole Alexis Ballet Theatre -  2/22Audition".

4 - All applicants must have the proper documentation to work/study in the U.S. (i.e.: work permit, Green card, U.S. Citizen, etc.) as well as a valid passport. 

POSITION DETAILS

Trainee contracts/agreements will be for 2026 to 2027. Please note that the company performs regularly.

Trainees will rehearse alongside the company artists, three to four times a week.

Salary/Wage

Trainees receive partial or full scholarships and receive $50-$80 for performance day.

Tours or Theatre engagements fees may vary between $550 to $1200 for weekly engagements (Example; touring).  The payment range is based on experience.

When the Company tours,  Company Members and Trainees receive additional per diem.
