Nimbus Dance seeks Dancers for 2026-2027 Season

Nimbus seeks soloist level professional dancers to fill company positions for the 2026-27 season. Company contract consists of a minimum 30 weeks including rehearsal, touring and performance periods. Season repertory includes works by Founding Artistic Director Samuel Pott and by a diverse range of guest choreographers, including Dawn Marie Bazemore,Houston Thomas, Yoshito Sakuraba, Pedro Ruiz, Roger C. Jeffrey, and many others. The 26-27 season will feature a new work by Omar Roman de Jesus, new work by Samuel Pott, and multiple repertory pieces, as well as Nimbus’ renowned Jersey Nutcracker, a dramatically  re-envisioned production of the Tchaikovsky classic. The company presents regular Fall and Spring seasons at the Nimbus Arts Center in Jersey City, and at Nimbus’ facility in Summit, NJ, and tours nationally. 

Nimbus Dancers possess highly accomplished, versatile technique and understanding in ballet, contemporary, modern, jazz, and other forms. Company dancers should be curious and creative in exploring process-based work. Nimbus Dancers are adventurous collaborators, committed to community impact through the arts, and excited to contribute as part of a group of like-minded artists. 

Nimbus strongly encourages dancers of diverse backgrounds and gender expressions to audition. 

Applicants should submit resume, headshot, and video link, if available, at registration link HERE. Selected dancers will be sent an audition slot on Thursday, March 19. Please be available for the entire audition.

Applicants must have legal permission to work in the United States.

*In-person audition ONLY. No video audition submissions at this time.

Contract Information:

The contract period runs from early September 2026 to May 2027, with possible extension for Summer 2027. 

Nimbus Company Salary: $500 - $600 / weekly base for 20 hours/rehearsal week + performances. Daily company class provided.

Medical insurance: employees may enroll in Nimbus’ contributory group plan, covering 50% of monthly premiums. 

Nimbus dancers receive opportunities for additional paid work as teachers, choreographers, administrators and more, further engaging with and extending Nimbus’ mission.
