Regenerative Arts Residency and Production
We’re re-imaging the future of the art form, and what empowering the next generation of performing artists looks like. A unique hybrid of production contract and residency, each artist will receive a role in the flagship summer production Wholly Unwinding. Each artist also receives a residency which includes time, space, healing modalities, and support developing your own regenerative project.
We are casting for two dancers. For this production, we are particularly interested in spotlighting artists with disabilities, though artists of all abilities will be considered!

About Wholly Unwinding:
For our fifth season, Hogfish is proud to announce that we will be presenting for the first time, a flagship production that started as a regenerative arts seed project by a Hogfish artist-in-residence. Wholly Unwinding is a multi-genre work that defies categorization - part opera, part musical, part folk concert, part story-telling around the campfire for three voices, dancers, and chamber ensemble with music and libretto by Hailey McAvoy.
The story explores Hailey’s experiences growing up with Cerebral Palsy and her reconnection to embodiment through Alexander Technique through a series of poetic, psychedelic tableaux carried by songs and accompanied monologues. Themes include laying down armor, saying f*ck it to the medical model of disability, self-agency and reclamation, and the power of community.
Hogfish actively seeks a diverse team of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, body types, neuro and physical abilities, disciplines and styles, as well as gender & sexuality expressions.

Deadline to apply: March 9. Applicants will be notified by March 12 if they are invited for a live audition.
