Hi, I’m Rainey—founder of Shimmer Studios. I’m a NYC-based multidisciplinary artist and photographer focused on fine art imagery that captures people in a natural, expressive, and artistic way.

I’m especially drawn to unique, concept-driven shoots in interesting spaces, and I love photographing the body in motion—whether that’s dancers, companies, events, performances, ice skaters, or more subtle, intimate portraits. My goal is always to create images that feel alive and intentional.

While my work leans artistic, I’m also open to more traditional needs like headshots and classic portraits.

I shoot both digital and film, and bring over 10 years of experience (5 years professionally) into every session. I’m an incoming Fine Art MFA photography student at Pratt Institute, and have been based in NYC for the past 3 years, originally from North Carolina. I’m continually inspired by movement, storytelling, and the people I meet. 

Above all, I want you—and anyone you’re sharing the space with—to feel seen, beautiful, and fully yourself in front of the camera.
