OPEN CALL: Flamenco Performance Installation
OPEN CALL: Flamenco Performance Installation
On Saturday, May 9th and Sunday May 10, as a part of Ridgewood Open Studios, Footlight at the Windjammer has invited artists Hans and Anthony Tran to create a live, immersive flamenco-based installation blending performance, sound, and projection. This is an interactive experience—no stage, no proscenium.
We’re looking for dancers, singers, and musicians with a strong foundation in traditional flamenco who are ready to experiment. No set choreography—just structured improvisation and a few anchor points.
To participate you must:
- Have a solid understanding of the structure flamenco for baile in an orthodox way,
- a strong and solid technique for dancing, singing, or playing flamenco,
- and are hungry to try something new and experimental.
There will be no choreography except for a few anchor points that are apart of the structured improvisation of a flamenco baile. If you feel confident in doing this, apply.
Key Points:
- This is an unpaid opportunity.
- This is best suited to artists hungry to experiment AND work traditionally.
- who want to build a dynamic and cohesive project shaped in real time
- Selected participants will be confirmed by the third week of April.
DEADLINE TO SUBMIT IS April 12th, 2026 AT 11:59PM
