SUBMIT FOR APPOINTMENT: SEEKING DANCERS WHO ACT
THE CIRCUIT: An Immersive Silent Disco Ballet
New York Theatre Company is seeking dancers who act for its upcoming production of The Circuit: An Immersive Silent Disco Ballet.
Inspired by Arthur Snitzler’s La Ronde, this original immersive work unfolds on the streets of DUMBO. Audiences & performers will wear silent disco headphones and experience a fully produced play and original score while the story is told live through dance. We are looking for dynamic performers with strong storytelling instincts — artists who can move athletically and convey nuanced character without spoken dialogue.

BREAKDOWN (all performers must be 21+)
Alanna - Female Presenting - Late Teens/Early 20s, Eager, Optimistic, Romantic. She wants “true” love.
Brady - Male Presenting - Early/Mid 20s - VERY wealthy, incredibly good looking, on-paper modern prince charming vibes aka trust fund baby but pretty effed up and lonely under the surface, son of a prominent banking family. He wants—no needs—to be wanted. - must be comfortable SHIRTLESS.
Cat - Female Presenting - Late 20s/Early 30s - will tell everyone she is 30 for the next 10 years. Powerhouse bi-con, lives for the thrills, has a substantial OF presence - also Dee’s wife. She wants thrills.
Dee - Female Presenting - Mid 30s - Cat’s Wife - the pants of the marriage, strong willed, high strung, organized, focused. She works for Brady’s mom at the bank. She wants a partner.
Fraiser - Male Presenting - Early/Mid 30s - , a lost soul who constantly yearns for more attention and more love, loves a pill, powder, and potion - Brady’s “boyfriend” - He wants….more more more. - must be comfortable SHIRTLESS
Everett - Male Presenting - Early-Mid 20s - Alanna’s best friend, even keeled, sweet on the surface but kinky underneath - must be comfortable SHIRTLESS and wearing a harness and pup mask

SCHEDULE
First Rehearsal: April 20, 2026
First Preview: May 13, 2026
Opening Night: May 21, 2026
Due to the nature of the piece, performer rehearsals will be staggered throughout the process, averaging approximately 19 hours per week.
The rehearsal and performance schedule is intentionally designed to allow performers to maintain other professional commitments in the city.
Actors must have local NYC housing.
COMPENSATION
AGVA Agreement Pending
$25/hour (minimum 19 hours per week, including health coverage)
AGVA Membership will be required upon the start of rehearsals.

PREPARATION
Please arrive warmed up and ready to move.
Wear sneakers, socks, or be prepared to work barefoot.
No heels or character shoes.
Wear clothing you feel confident and comfortable dancing in.
You will learn a combination in a commercially theatrical contemporary style. Callbacks may explore partnering work. Dancers should be comfortable with audience interaction, eye contact, and improvisation.
