OPEN POSITION
Financial and Strategic Development Director
The Field Center is seeking an experienced and motivated Financial and Strategic
Development Director who is passionate about the value of the arts, creative movement
practices and public performance. This part-time position works directly with the
Executive Director and Director of Operations to develop and implement the strategic
financial vision for a vibrant arts center and 501c3 organization.
POSITION GOALS
- Develop long-term strategic financial plans for revenue generation, operational sustainability and programmatic growth.
- Design, implement and assess initiatives and practices for funding short and long-term programs, with diversified revenue streams including grants, individual giving and other earned revenue.
- Develop and manage institutional systems for budgeting, patron and donor management, donor communications, grant-writing and financial management and reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Planning & Operations
- Develop and implement 2, 5- and 10- year Strategic Financial Plan, including creating budget projections and contingency plans.
- Oversee operational budgets. Work with staff to maintain accurate data, and report on results and projections.
- Advance and assess plans for earned revenue, including participant fees, rental income and other opportunities.
- Spearhead quarterly financial reporting to the board of directors and manage end-of-year reporting and tax preparation in collaboration with accountant and bookkeepers.
Fundraising & Earned Revenue Development
- Implement a CRM database to track participants, grantors, donors, and prospects. Manage migration of current data and maintain databases in collaboration with staff.
- Investigate and prioritize grant opportunities, develop and oversee regional and national grant calendars
- Draft, edit and ensure the impactful execution of grants in collaboration with staff and freelance grant writers.
- Cultivate relationships with current and prospective donors, stakeholders and leaders in the regional arts ecology
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Part-time, salaried position
~30 hrs per week
- Remote eligible with a minimum of 5 on-site days per calendar year
- 60k annualized salary
- Full access to all Field Center public programs/performances
- Healthcare benefits not included
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 6 years professional experience in financial management, fundraising or strategic development for non-profits
- Experience developing and utilizing CRM and donor tracking
- Fluency in Quickbooks, Excel and Google suite
- Experience with donor cultivation and direct communications
- Knowledge of the current non-profit and creative economies within the U.S.
- Reliable, punctual and responsive communicator
- Experience working in the arts a plus
- New England/Northeast resident a plus

We serve as a resource for working artists at all stages of their career to learn, develop their teaching and performance practices, and build stronger collaborative relationships with one another.
