Studio Manager

Dance Entropy, Inc. is seeking a dynamic Studio Manager to join our team and organization for our upcoming season with the possibility of full time, long-term employment and growth opportunities.

About Dance Entropy

Founded in 1998, Valerie Green/Dance Entropy (VG/DE) believes in humanizing movement, both in Ms. Green’s critically acclaimed choreographic work and the company’s mission to plant creative seeds in communities across the world. Intersecting mortal and transcendent, sensual and sophisticated, visceral and self-aware, VG/DE invites the artist, the audience—the human—into a compelling, physical experience. Based out of its home studio, Green Space in Queens, NY, VG/DE combines performance and specialized outreach programs to inspire communities in cultural institutions throughout the world. As a professional nonprofit dance company, the communities we engage with have included at risk youth, adolescents, trauma survivors, the differently abled, older adults and aspiring/professional dancers.

About Green Space

Located in one of New York City’s fastest growing neighborhoods, Green Space is a cultural front-runner in Long Island City, Queens and among the greater NYC dance community. The spacious 1800 square-foot studio and performance venue is an incubator: a place for dancers, choreographers, teachers, and community members alike to gather and experience dance where it’s created. At Green Space, hundreds of renters each year book the studio to rehearse and hone their craft; emerging and established choreographers present new work in monthly Fertile Ground and Take Root programs; teachers offer classes in styles ranging from the experimental and modern to the culturally traditional; and resident company Valerie Green/Dance Entropy creates its critically acclaimed repertoire and offers weekly outreach programs to underserved communities.
