What is "We Move"?

Established under the direction of Drye/Marinaro Dance Company (DMDC), We Move describes the Company's choreographic showcases that provide an opportunity to present work of choreographers and artists in any stage of their career, build a diverse network of artists, and expand your craft, creativity, and community through performances in unconventional spaces. Our Mission is to offer impactful experiences for artists and viewers alike, and foster future collaborative opportunities for the amazing artists in our community; WE believe dance is more than just movement - it can serve as a vehicle of change for ourselves and our communities!

And this summer, 2026, our We Move showcase "Life in Color" is a celebration of JOY, IDENTITY, and FREEDMON, as we bring together diverse choreographers and movement artists of all genres (Ballet, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Tap, Jazz, Theater, Drag, Cabaret, and more) to celebrate the summer sun, pride month, and a community of love and support!

THEME: Life in Color - Joy, Freedom, Pride, however you interpret it!

DATE: Friday, June 5th at 7 PM EST.

LOCATION: 3 Dollar Bill, 260 Meserole St Brooklyn, NY

 

Your Work!

- Choreographers/Artists must be from NYC and the surrounding areas

- Work should be between 3-7 mins max

- We are looking for group works that are high energy, fun, quirky, and upbeat

- Work can be movement based of any genre (Hip Hop, Contemporary, Jazz, Cabaret, Drag, etc). 

- Work should explore and share a strong perspective on the theme of this showcase

- Work should show strong performance and techincal quality with a clear conceptualized idea

- All Performers (and audience members) must be 21+, no exceptions

 

We are looking for 15 presenting Artists/Companies!

Application Information:

- Company's/Choreographer's Name and Info

- Title, Music Credits, and Brief Description of your work

Participating Artists will receive performance video, photos, and $5 for each ticket sold under their unique artist code!
