DAILY STRUCTURE:

MORNING — Modern MOVES, Technique (2 hrs)
Explore space with curiosity; utilize breath and connection with site and community. Explore full-bodied movement with biomechanical awareness, weight, texture, and sensitivity.

MIDDAY — Break + Conversation (30 min)
A space to pause, connect, refuel, and exchange ideas in community.

AFTERNOON — Ballaro Dance, Repertory Lab (2 hrs 30 min)
Develop a Ballaro repertory work—be in process and shape new material with the Company. This is a space of rigorous engagement, creative development, and embodied research leaning toward performance practice. The residency will include collaborators-in-process, and the culminating project will be developed and defined through the week’s work.

Material will culminate in a fully produced dance film with Ready Steady Cinema. Filming will take place at sunset on Friday, July 10 or early morning (sunrise) on Saturday, July 11 (pending weather/anticipated conditions.) 

ABOUT THE RESIDENCY:

This residency is designed as a continuous arc of training, dialogue, and making—held in a supportive and focused environment over five days.

Participants are invited to arrive fully, work deeply, and contribute to a shared studio culture of rigor and care. Limited capacity ensures depth of attention and sustained engagement across the week.

TUITION:

We aim to keep this residency accessible while supporting the labor and care of the program. Fee includes all classes, studio time, facilitation, and project filming.

Early Bird (until May 22): $525
Regular Program Tuition: $575
Late Bird (post July 1): $625

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

+ Technique drop-in and single-day participation will be available as capacity allows.
+ Tuition may be paid via Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, or check.
+ Early Bird pricing is available through May 22.
+ Full refunds are available through June 1, less a $40 administrative fee. Cancellations after June 1 are eligible for a 50% credit toward future Ballaro programming.
