Applications are now open for Hi-ARTS' 2026–27 CRITICAL BREAKS and SKY LAB Artist Residencies.

Hi-ARTS is seeking bold solo and duo artists ready to deepen their creative practice, take creative risks, and move their work to the next stage of development.

Rooted in process, experimentation, and artistic growth, Hi-ARTS residency programs provide financial support, dedicated time and space, and opportunities for public engagement. Through CRITICAL BREAKS and SKY LAB, artists are supported in advancing new work, exploring new ideas, and sharing their creative process with audiences.

Past resident artists include Andrea Ambam, Jay St. Flono, Liza Jessie Peterson, Yang Sun & Poets, Cheri L. Stokes, The Illustrious Blacks, Brian Quijada & Nygel D. Robinson, Leah Tubbs, Najee Omar, Curtis Turney, Charlene Jean, Friday Lynton, and many more.

All residencies culminate in a WORK IN PROCESS [WIP] at Hi-ARTS' home in Downtown Brooklyn.

Deadline: June 30, 2026
