Dancers Wanted: Janet Panetta Legacy Project

I am seeking a small group of adventurous dancers to join a new work honoring the life and legacy of Janet Panetta, my teacher for many years and a true artistic rebel.

This project explores the intersection of ballet and hip hop through play, remixing iconic ballet imagery, props, storytelling, and movement creation. Inspirations include Coppélia, Swan Lake, and Don Quixote, filtered through a contemporary lens.

I’m looking for dancers who are curious, collaborative, and willing to experiment. Ballet experience is welcome but not required. A sense of humor, creativity, and openness to the process are essential.

Rehearsal / Informal Audition
Monday, June 22, 2026
7:00–9:00 PM
Triskelion Arts, Brooklyn

Performance
October 3, 2026

Compensation
Currently unfunded.

The process will include movement creation, prop exploration, and playful reimagining of classical ballet themes.

The wilder the better. Janet was a rebel.

If you cannot attend on June 22 but would like additional information, please reach out. Dancers of all backgrounds and body types are encouraged to inquire.
