Theater Manager — KnJ Theater at Peridance Center

About Peridance Center Peridance Center is one of New York City's leading performing arts institutions, located one block from Union Square. Our KnJ Theater is an intimate performance space that hosts Peridance's own productions as well as a wide range of rental clients from the New York dance and performing arts community.

About the Role We are looking for an organized, experienced, and proactive Theater Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the KnJ Theater. This person will be the primary point of contact for all theater activity — from in-house productions to rental clients — and will play a key role in growing the theater's presence in the New York performing arts community.

Responsibilities

Hire, schedule, and supervise theater crew for all productions and events

Oversee set up and breakdown of the theater for each production and rental

Serve as Stage Manager for in-house Peridance productions

Manage crew scheduling to ensure all shifts are covered

Administer theater rentals, including contracts, logistics, and client communications

Actively reach out to potential rental clients and promote the KnJ Theater to artists, companies, and organizations in the performing arts community

Serve as the primary point of contact for rental clients throughout the booking and production process

Ensure the theater is maintained and prepared to the highest standard for every event

Qualifications

Experience in theater management, stage management, or production management

Strong organizational and communication skills

Ability to manage a team and coordinate multiple events simultaneously

Familiarity with black box theater operations and technical theater

Experience with rental administration or venue management a plus

A genuine passion for the performing arts and the New York dance community
