Discovery Programs, an early childhood, dance, gymnastics and recreation program on the Upper West Side is seeking dance teachers for Mondays afternoons, Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings for the school year starting September 14th. 

Qualifications:

Ballet, Jazz and Hip Hop teaching experience, particularly with children ages two through twelve.2+ years experience. Must be vailable from September through mid-June. The candidate will be energetic, positive, and interactive. They must use positive teaching methods and work collaboratively with administrative staff.

Specific Responsibilities:

Teach recreational dance classes with an emphasis on proper technique, creative movement, and musicality.  
Stage and choregraph age-appropriate dances for the twice yearly semester-end dance recital/concert.  
Fill out student evaluations one to two times yearly.
Record student attendance for each class. 
Attend all staff meetings and trainings, including those that may not fall within regular teaching hours.
Communicate with Director regarding any concerns, children’s behavioral issues and class structure.
