7th Season of CounterPointe: new work by women choreographers and their collaborations with artists

Interested women choreographers should have a track record of presenting work and must have interest in collaborating with a visual artist. If selected, you will be paired with a collaborator. Norte Maar will curate this pairing.

We are interested in producing a program which represents the cultural diversity of NYC. There is no house style, though the pointe shoe must be part of the work. You must be available to collaborate with a New York metro area-based artist.

Please forward a short letter of interest, bio/resumé, and LINKS to recent choreography (please do not send video attachments) to: CounterPointeBallet@gmail.com. Selections will be made on a first come / first served basis. Tech and performance dates: April 25-28, 2019 at the Actors Fund Arts Center, Brooklyn.

"The artists and audience had the revelatory experience of seeing artwork in a new context: transported from the well-delineated walls of the white cube to the deep space of the black box." -Sharon Butler, TwoCoatsofPaint.com

This program is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
