Job Title: Membership & Artist Services Associate

Department: Development

Position Reports to: Chief Development Officer

 

I. OUTCOMES AND OBJECTIVES

The Membership & Artist Services Associate is responsible for advancing and maintaining the New York Live Arts Individual Membership and Live Core Artist Membership programs. Successful candidates will solicit participation in the programs through electronic, written, and spoken communications to prospective members, and will steward existing members through their participation in these programs. This position combines skills of an outgoing, goal-oriented person who enjoys serving artists and audience members while making a contribution to the overall arts landscape of New York City. This is an entry-level position with room for growth and ideal for individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit.

 

 

II. RESPONSIBILITIES

Service participants in the Live Core, Fiscal Sponsorship, and Live Arts Member programs
Track, solicit, process, and administer benefits for new and renewing members
Process fiscal sponsorship applications
Schedule intake meetings with new Live Core members
Create donation page and member profile for fiscally sponsored artist members
Process donations in PatronManager
Create acknowledgement letters for donations
Work closely with the Chief Development Officer and finance department to reconcile donations
Upon request, provide fiscal sponsorship letters to artist members
Provide back-up materials for grant applications for fiscally sponsored artists
Work closely with artists on an individual basis to support their career advancement
Organize member gatherings, workshops, and/or special events
Maintain services for Live Core artist members, including:

General communication and troubleshooting for members who utilize programs

Printing of mailing lists
Sending Press & Blogger E-mail list
Prepare monthly newsletter of grants, workshops and residency opportunities
Facilitate consultations with staff
Prepare monthly ad reservation form for e-blast to Live Core members
Maintain ongoing relationships with partners Fractured Atlas, The Field, Kickstarter, Materials for the Arts, and others as they arise

With the support of the CDO and Individual Giving Manager, design, develop and prepare individual fundraising materials including invitations, e-blasts, stewardship materials and year-end mailings

Handle donor requests for performance tickets or other donor-related needs

Assist Development staff with correspondence, research, meeting preparation and other activities and business operations of the department

 

III. QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong writing, communication and interpersonal skills; poise, tolerance for diverse viewpoints, and a sensitivity to the artistic process
 Knowledge of and deep interest in contemporary dance and/or performing or visual arts
Proficient computer knowledge of Word, Excel, and GoogleDrive
Well organized
Strong communication skills, willingness to speak before a group
Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
Knowledge of field and community
Customer service oriented
Basic database skills
Detail oriented
