123/ Intersection of three

march 19 Dan Ben Ari

Three choreographers bring their individual histories to the stage to create a new, collective narrative.

ONE  Liron Kichler, Creator and Dancer

Do It Right Do It Slow explores the pressure to perform and the moment when that pressure starts to break. It looks at the tension between doing things “right” and choosing to slow down.

TWO   Brianna López,Creator and Dancer (with Melissa Padilla)

"Intimacy 2: A Study in Closeness" is the second work in the Intimacy Series, an ongoing choreographic project examining the many textures of intimacy. How do we remain close while we are still becoming?

This duet is rooted in two personal narratives of migration and longing. Through the acts of pulling and pushing, the performers explore intimacy as an ongoing negotiation between nearness and distance, attachment and autonomy. Tulle functions as an extension of the skin, heightening sensitivity and rendering visible the subtle forces that draw bodies together or press them apart.

Brianna López is a New York City–based choreographer, performer, and educator holding an MFA in Dance from the University of Utah. Her current choreographic project, Intimacy Series, is an ongoing body of work composed of multiple duets that explore a shared theme through narrative, each iteration revealing a different relational terrain.

Recent projects include Quietude, an evening-length work commissioned by ConnectArte Espacio Multidisciplinario in Mexico and created on SISU Danza Compañía through a residency process; and Enchiridion: Chapter 1, presented at the P3 Showcase at Studio Naim in Tel Aviv, Israel. As a performer, she has collaborated with LUX Boreal Dance Company, ImPort Music & Dance Sessions, and Portal, a transborder project between Mexico and California directed by Jess Humphrey.

THREE  Michal Ben Lior ,Creator and Dancer( with Elliana Lynch Daniels and Iren Kamyshev)

Sunflowers  is an evening-length contemporary dance work exploring the invisible threads of lineage, memory, and the "emotional carriage" passed down through four generations of women

Michal is a contemporary dance visionary with over 24 years of experience as a dancer, choreographer, teacher, and director.
