12th Annual Dance Parade

Dance Parade Dance Parade

Approximately 10,000 dancers of all levels and genres are getting ready for the 12th annual Dance Parade, which will take place Saturday May 19th.  The festivities will begin at 1 pm at 21st St. & Broadway, boogie through Union Square and University Place, across 8th Street/St. Mark's, and to Tompkins Square Park at approximately 3 pm.  The free celebration continues on 5 set-up stages for performances, social dancing, and dance lessons.  Grand Marshals this year are Camille A. Brown, Michela "Bare Feet" Mallozzi, WBLS DJ Doc Martin, and Brooklyn City Council Member Rafael Espinal.   And, as always, the dance parade police will be on hand, making sure that everyone is in a dancing mood and giving out summonses for "non-moving violations."
