Meka Oku will lead students into a cultural exploration of Afro House dance style/choreography. Great workout, high energy, rhythms, and good music. With smooth, step by step instructions, allow Meka to guide you into the Afro House dance rhythms. Students will focus on movements from Angola.
Meka Oku, the Afro’House King, is a Nigerian-born, self-taught dance instructor and choreographer. He was inspired to learn to dance at a young age by watching his idol, Michael Jackson. His experience dancing in different styles of Afro Dance, Afro’House, and Dancehall inspired movement has led him to choreograph for A-List artists such as Psquare and Selebobo. He is the founder of AfroHouse NYC, a teaching platform, dedicated to bringing the AfroHouse dance genre from Angola to the U.S. Meka teaches live classes across the United States as well as hosts online events and tutorials.
