Ballet BC is seeking experienced dancers interested in a diverse collaborative environment that focuses on the innovation and creation of contemporary dance. The artists should display strong classical training, have experience in contemporary dance and a passion for the creative process.

At this stage, we are only considering applications for dancers that have a minimum of three (3) years of professional experience.

For the successful applicants, the contract will commence in August 2021, and Ballet BC will provide work permit/visa support to work in Canada if required.

Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, Ballet BC will be accepting video auditions via our website.

Please submit a link to a video including the following:

– Ballet Technique – maximum of 4 minutes: Three (3) short exercises at the barre starting from rond de jambe, and four (4) short centre exercises consisting of adagio, pirouettes, petit allegro and grand allegro. No pointe shoes please.

– Contemporary solo of your Choice – maximum of 3 minutes: studio footage preferred

– Improvisation – 2-3 continuous minutes: Improvisation without edits

– Partnering – maximum of 3 minutes (optional, but advised) – studio footage preferred, however performance footage is acceptable
