As part of Carroll Hall’s Summer artist residency program, performance platform CreateART has curated Bushwick based dance company Haus of PVMNT to create a site specific dance work for this remarkable space. The 2 week residency will culminate in performance piece Betrieben, a collection of site-specific, immersive dance theater works centered around the life and work of NY-based artist, Robert Mapplethorpe, staged in the unique and intimate spaces of Carroll Hall’s warehouse and garden.

Betreiben Part I premiered on December 6th, 2021 at the New York City Culture Club, a gallery in the Oculus Building at the World Trade Center in NYC. This creation & performance of this work was made possible by Mary Cusano Amsterdam.

Betreiben Part II is the product of a 2-week artistic residency at Carroll Hall where Haus of PVMNT have exploded and expanded upon the world created in Betreiben Part I. The performance will be followed with a reception and a set played by DJ Monet.
