The Playground NYC allows dancers to experience various choreographic styles and ideas, engage with a new community of dancers, and gather resourceful information and inspiration from the array of choreographers involved. In turn, established choreographers are paid for their creative investigations, are given free space to explore new movement with professional dancers, and are provided with the opportunity to establish relationships with new dancers and fellow choreographers.  

Bio:
Chris Emile is an active choreographer, director, and performer based in Los Angeles. As a performer, Chris has performed with Alonzo King LINES Ballet, Morphoses, BODYTRAFFIC, and Luna Negra Dance Theater under the direction of Gustavo Ramirez Sansano. Chris’s choreographic work oscillates throughout the fine art, commercial, and concert worlds. Recent credits include Solange, San Francisco Symphony, Hauser & Wirth, Kelela, Refinery 29, and Anderson Paak. In 2014, Chris co-founded movement based collective No)one. Art House and continues to curate all programming for the organization.
