Alvin Ailey was an incomparable dancer, a forward-facing visionary, and one of the most significant choreographers of the 20th century. His work changed the course of modern dance forever. 
On what would have been Mr. Ailey’s 95th birthday, dancers are invited to join Associate Artistic Director and former Ailey dancer Matthew Rushing for a special workshop exploring Alvin Ailey’s genius as a choreographer. Students will learn modern and contemporary movement inspired by Mr. Ailey’s most celebrated choreographies while delving into his impact on both the dance world and American history.
