Hivewild’s Conditioning for Dancers is a 75-minute class dedicated to providing dancers with strengthening, structural mobility, and conditioning training to support their professional performance careers.

Throughout this series, you can expect to work with kettlebells, light weights, bands, blocks, and more. Each dancer's specific needs will be taken into consideration with the intention of providing personalized adjustments for any pre-existing injuries or conditions.

Grounded in sustainable movement practices, the class supports injury prevention and long-term career health while complementing the physical demands of contemporary technique and repertory performance. This class provides physical training tailored to the needs of professional dancers, with particular attention to strengthening and adapting exercises for hypermobile bodies.

The class is led by Hivewild choreographer, Katherine Maxwell, who holds 10+ years of experience as a nationally-certified Personal Trainer (ACE) and a cerfiied Pilates instructor along with additional certifications including CPR/AED, Sports Nutrition Coach; Precision Nutrition, Pregnant and Postpartum Client Specialty Certification, and the Fundamentals of Coaching Behavior, among others.

Maxwell's approach to training is grounded in functional movement as the foundational launching point. Applying her understanding of the body through the lens of a dancer, she focuses on functionality, mobility, and bodyweight training as a starting point for strengthening the body. She prioritizes training for life, maintaining a balance between cardio, strength, circuit training, and recovery.
