Class Description: This class will be a dynamic exploration of style and tone, with phrase work evolving week to week. Each session includes a thorough warmup designed to prepare the body and  energize the spirit for the class ahead. Depending on the focus of the day, sessions may incorporate improvisation, floor work, theatrical exercises but will always include the opportunity to explore movement and learn choreography. This class will meet for 4 sessions: 4/8, 4/29, 5/6, 5/13/26


 

Teacher Name: Maddy Wright

 

Teacher Bio: Madeline Wright is a professional dance artist based in New York City, originally from Toronto, Canada. She is a graduate of Point Park University, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. Madeline began her professional career under the direction of Tony Award–winning choreographer Sonya Tayeh and has since cultivated a significant presence within the New York dance community. Most recently, Madeline was a member of the originating cast of Life & Trust, an immersive off-Broadway theatre production. Her broader performance career includes engagements with a range of esteemed choreographers and companies, including The Kuperman Brothers, Jenn Freeman, Akira Uchida, Dolly Sfeir, Chelsea Thedinga, and NVA&Guests. In addition to her performance work, she has produced original choreographic works for both stage and film. Notably, she co-created Full Stop. Start Again., a work developed in collaboration with Akira Uchida and Josh Strmic. Some of Madeline's commercial credits include assisting in choreography and movement direction for brand campaigns with clients such as Neiman Marcus and Holt Renfrew. Beyond her contributions as a performer and creator, Madeline is a committed educator, teaching across the United States and Canada at respected institutions for youth and pre-professional dancers. Her choreographic voice is an accumulation of the knowledge and experience gained through process-driven work with a diverse range of artists. Deeply influenced by jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, acting, and improvisation, her work reflects a multifaceted and evolving artistic identity.

Whether you want to deepen your practice or begin the path toward teaching, this program offers a focused, immersive experience in the foundations of the classical Pilates method.
