Creators in Dance Post-Summit Panel
Are you a choreographer or dance maker and want to learn more about the tensions and questions shaping the field today? Join choreographers Omar Roman De Jesus, Josh Prince, and Sidra Bell—moderated by BalletCollective Artistic & Executive Director Troy Schumacher—for an evening panel as they share the field-shaping findings that emerged from the inaugural Creators in Dance Summit—a closed-door gathering of nearly 80 professional choreographers that convened in NYC on March 29.
Produced by BalletCollective and guided by an advisory board including Kyle Abraham, Robert Battle, Camille A. Brown, Ohad Naharin, Alexei Ratmansky, Pam Tanowitz, and Christopher Wheeldon, Summit participants gathered to speak candidly about the realities of making work today and addressed questions of sustainability, artistic rigor, authorship, and commissioning that rarely get spoken aloud.
For the first time, findings and reflections from this historic day will be shared, publicly, by choreographers who were in the room. Join us.
Wednesday, April 15. Doors 5:45 PM, Panel 6:00 PM Museum of Arts and Design, 2 Columbus Circle $5 artist tickets available.
