Cultural Connections: The Music and Dance of Uganda

Experience the beauty of Ugandan culture through the lens of music, dance, and storytelling at the National Arts Club.

Godfrey Muwulya is an extraordinary artist from Uganda who will perform indigenous dances from Uganda and Rwanda including Intore, Runyege, and Entongoro. Muwulya also plays traditional instruments and sings memorable songs from his childhood. His charismatic and energetic performing style have impressed audiences around the world.

Muwulya and Deborah Damast, Director of the Dance Education Program at New York University, have been collaborating in Uganda and the U.S. for 13 years and host a lively discussion about cross cultural collaboration, education, and friendship. Guest artists join them in the performance.
