Class Description:

The Klauss Vianna Technique is a Brazilian contemporary dance and somatic education technique that embody movement research through improvisation practices that arise from specific corporal topics and motion vectors. The class allows people to work their creativity, musicality, flexibility, relationship with the group and environment, movement awareness, presence, and postural alignment. We will explore the dance’s performative and creative potentials. It is a highly physical investigation that stems from body listening and context awareness.

There is no previous experience required. 

Cora Laszlo:

Cora Laszlo is a Brazilian dance-maker, choreographer, teacher, and author. Her creative and pedagogical work is based on the Klauss Vianna Technique, which is focused on improvisation, context-awareness, and creative processes. Cora holds a B.A. in Dance and a Licentiate degree in Dance Teaching from UNICAMP (Brazil) and an M.A. in Klauss Vianna Technique from PUC-SP (Brazil). 
As an educator, Cora is interested in building spaces for movement research, dance creation, self-awareness development, improvisation, and an investigative way to work movement sequences. She published a book about her innovative approach of the Klauss Vianna Technique for teenagers, titled Outros Caminhos de Dança (2018).
After moving to New York in August 2018, Cora started creating a new solo performance, "December 32", which debuted at the Movement Research at the Judson Church. Cora has also performed her creations at Movement Research Open Performance and at !Spontaneous Combustion!. She has also performed at Fi:Af (in the Crossing the Line Festival) as part of the ensemble of Tunisian choreographer Shyhem Belkhodja, and at Lala Mama Moves as part of Mia Habib's performance. For more information, visit www.coralaszlo.com.
