The 17th annual Dance Parade, that joyous celebration of dance, returns on Saturday May 20th, with 10,000 dancers from 160+ local and out of town dance organizations, performing over 100 different styles of dance.  Grand Marshals this year are famed choreographers Ronald K. Brown and Elizabeth Streb, and DJ Natasha Diggs.  The festivities start at 12 noon with a ribbon cutting at 6th Avenue & 17th St.  The Parade then proceeds down 6th Ave. to 8th Street, where it turns East.  Grandstands will be set up on 8th St. & 4th Avenue, where selected companies will give brief performances, and the Parade continues to Tompkins Square Park, 1st Avenue & 9th Street, where 5 special stages will be set up for more performances, dance classes, and mixing and mingling.  As always, the grand celebration is free.
