Dark Dreams

The festival is an annual showcase of contemporary Central and Eastern European Theater, founded in 2017. It is a shared endeavor of the Václav Havel Center and the Bohemian Benevolent and Literary Association in partnership with numerous other cultural and performing arts organizations. The festival honors the artistic and political legacy of the Czech playwright/dissident/president Václav Havel. They support exchanges between American and European theater professionals and celebrate the power of the theater to transform our lives.

 

Saturday, June 15

1) Dance performance – Jumpcore (Poland) at 7pm from choreographer Pawel Sakowicz.

2) Dance on film – Boa (Poland) at 9pm from choreographer Pawel Sakowicz.

 

Sunday, June 16 at 3pm - Physical Theater on film

1) Noon (Czechia), commissioned by Divadlo Continuo and Divadlo Archa, Artistic Director Pavel Štourač, Filmmaker Amador Artiga with music by Elia Moretti and a live string quartet.

 

Wednesday, June 19 – two Dance on film events

1) Riders (Czechia) at 7pm from director/choreographer Lenka Vagnerová.

2) Commander & Effemery (Czechia) at 9pm from Farm in the Cave and director/choreographer Viliam Dočolomanský, co-directed by Jiří Matoušek.
