Acclaimed artist Emily Johnson invites you to a sunset performance gathering in Prospect Park. Gather on and amongst a 4,000 square-foot installation composed of 84 hand-stitched quilts, designed by Ojibwe artist Maggie Thompson. Listen to stories and provocations transmitted from artists across territories and First Nations along with the booming sounds from famed Lower East Side DJ Dat Gurl Curly.Learn the backstitch from quilt care-takers Korina Emmerich and Nishina Loft; take home a bundle of herbs specially prepared to support the summer harvest and our nervous systems from PECaN; join dancer Ashley Pierre-Louis to learn more about one of the park’s oldest trees; and enjoy a pop-up nature activity and tours of the surrounding trails by Prospect Park Alliance.
