FILM SHOWING OF MARTHA HILL MAKING DANCE MATTER

MISS HILL: MAKING DANCE MATTER

Free showing of Miss Hill: Making Dance Matter on December 2, 2018 at 12:00pm

A documentary that tells the inspiring and largely unknown story of a woman whose life was defined by her love for dance. Martha Hill emerges as dance’s secret weapon, someone who fought against great odds to establish dance as a legitimate art form in America. Through archival footage, lively interviews with dance notables, and rare footage of the spirited subject, the film depicts her role as the leader of the Modern Dance revolution and the controversial struggle that accompanied Juilliard’s move to Lincoln Center.
