Floor to Ceiling Dance and Learn: Cecchetti Technique

This program is first come, first served. No prior dance experience required.

In this series of workshops, the Library for the Performing Arts invites you to learn Enrico Cecchetti’s famous technique through the Jerome Robbins Dance Division’s audio and moving image collection and the movement styles shown on the screen. The Founder of the New York Theatre Ballet School, Diana Byer, uses material from the Division’s collection to lead movement workshops highlighting the history of the technique, focusing on the one developed by Cecchetti and later taught by Margaret Craske. Dance Division staff conclude the workshop with instruction on how to use the research catalog and access the materials shown during the workshop.
