Join ETD Outreach Instructor Isabel Estrada-Jamison every Monday at 5pm EST for Intro to Afro-Cuban Modern Technique!

This class is an introduction to la Técnica de Danza Moderna, the intense, rooted and soulful technique developed in Cuba to physically and emotionally fortify dancers. The class will focus on breath, alignment and expression.

Join us every Monday from 5pm-5:30pm for $5-$20 per class. Suggested price is $10, but pay what you can! All classes are drop-ins, reserve your spot on EventBrite each week.

Isabel Estrada-Jamison owes her initial experiences of dance to the adventurous spirit of her late mother Barbara who would bring her daughter everywhere to dance: from the streets of Panama and the tablaos of Sevilla to the rumbas of La Habana. Isabel has been performing Afro-Cuban Folkloric dance for 16 years and had toured throughout the United States and Cuba. Currently, Isabel dances with Oyu Oro Experimental Dance Ensemble in New York City. In addition to dancing, Isabel practices and teaches yoga. She finds that yoga helps her stay present and joyful.

ETD Outreach is a division of Eryc Taylor Dance that works to create positive social change by using dance as a tool to inspire and heal. Our unique initiative partners with supportive housing sites, hospitals, and community centers throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and beyond to curate movement workshops for vulnerable populations. For the first time ever, ETD Outreach is hosting public dance workshops, in response to COVID-19.
