Harlem Stage Black Arts Movement: Examined Part VI Featuring Kayla Farrish's Myths Until You Hold Me

Kayla Farrish's Myths until you hold me presented by Harlem Stage's signature dance series E-Moves

Director, Choreographer, and Filmmaker Kayla Farrish’s, Myths until you hold me, imagines and brings into resolution Kayla as a Black Woman becoming visceral, solid, and human; taking the pen to this narrative of her own making to disrupt the erasure and reduction of Black American Womanhood. Holding roots as a Black American Woman from the South, she reflects through fragmented history, artist’s crafts, and personal lineage to uncover herself.

Kayla Farrish performs as part of Harlem Stage's signature dance series, E-Moves. This year, Jerome Robbins Award-winning dancer and choreographer Stefanie Batten Bland curates the program that will feature three phenomenal dancers, including Farrish, whose works are inspired by the Black Arts Movement and presented as part six of their yearlong series, Black Arts Movement: Examined.
