Inspired by “The MAAFA Suite” and the teachings of Dr. Johnny Ray Youngblood, it incorporates images by Tom Feelings and music by Phil Hamilton and John Williams. REMEMBERING is American history told by African Voices, lacing Contemporary and African Dance with audio-visual elements including spoken word, music, and African drumming.
