Two members of the Lucinda Childs Dance Company, Caitlin Scranton and Sharon Milanese, will teach the first movement of Ms. Childs's iconic work Dance, a collaboration with Philip Glass and Sol Lewitt. Hailed by critics around the world as a seminal piece in the history of modern dance, Dance is a masterpiece of simple minimalistic repetition and intricate patterns that are the signature of Ms. Childs choreography. During this week-long workshop students will utilize Lucinda’s unique scoring system to master the complex musical and choreographic structure of her work.
