NEW YORK THEATRE BALLET PRESENTS LEGENDS AND VISIONARIES
New York Theatre Balletas (NYTB) spring program, Legends And Visionaries, will perform two of Richard Alstonas works; A Rugged Flourish and the U.S. premiere of Light Flooding Into Darkened Rooms. Known for his instinctive musicality, The New York Timesa Alastair Macaulay called Alston aone of the most musically astute choreographers alive.a The spring program also includes Jerome Robbinsa Rondo (not seen in NYC since 1982), Antony Tudoras Dark Elegies and the pas de deux from Romeo and Juliet, JosA LimAnas The Mooras Pavane and, as a nod to the 50th Anniversary of the Judson Dance Theater movement, James Waringas An Eccentric Beauty Revisited and Feathers. Between the Acts: Conversation on Dance, will feature choreographer Richard Alston (February 22 only) and Archivist for the Merce Cunningham Dance Company and author of Frederick Ashton and His Ballets, David Vaughan. Program A: Opening night February 22 at 7:00pm, with additional shows on February 23, April 19 and 20.
