Saturday Series: Shoulder Anatomy & Function

Bones of a shoulder

IN PERSON - Our fifth Saturday Series workshop of 2026, Shoulder Anatomy & Function, will be led by Harkness Center Program Manager of athletic training Lauren McIntyre, LAT, ATC.

This in-person workshop will explore the anatomy of the shoulder, common injuries seen in dancers, and useful conditioning exercises and stretches from a biopsychosocial lens. We will also consider the intrinsic and extrinsic factors related to dancers’ shoulders such as dance style(s) practiced, age and gender of dancer, and individual anatomy. Participants will learn a series of exercises that can be tailored to their individual needs.
