NAI-NI CHEN DANCE COMPANY / ALL ARTS "PAST, PRESENT, FUTURE" WITH LES BALLET AFRIK

Friday, July 15, 2022

7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Flushing Meadows Corona Park

Grand Central Parkway/Whitestone Expressway between 111 St. and College Point Blvd., Corona, NY 11368

SummerStage in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park can be found at this exact location. We are past the Queens Theatre and the Maloof Skate park in the open field.

Programming will kick off at 6:00PM with a dance workshop with Fanike! African Dance Troupe.

Founded by the late Taiwanese-American Na Ni Chen, the New Jersey-based, cross-cultural Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company brings unique movement and choreographic styles that bridge the grace and splendor of the Chinese cultural tradition with New York’s modern dance spirit. Sharing the evening is the ALL ARTS’ “Past, Present, Future” festival which partners with choreographers and filmmakers to explore what past, present, and future mean to them and their work. This installation will feature Les Ballet Afrik, founded and led by Omari Wiles, a legend within the ballroom community, whose mission is to represent dance styles from Africa and the United States, with an emphasis on West African, Afrobeat, House, and Vogue.

Unfortunately, Ayodele Casel will no longer be performing at SummerStage in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park on July 15 due to unforeseen circumstances.
