SyncUP

SyncUP

DESCRIPTION:
This three-day workshop offers insight and tools for understanding the important use of collaboration in the studio between choreogra-phers and dancers. Dancers today need to be versed in the area of collaboration to optimally participate in the studio whether it be a class, audition or choreographic session. Personal artistry will be enhanced by exploring collaborative methods in the language ofmovement.

This exciting opportunity is open to all students, professionals and pre-professionals who are looking for a fresh perspective on the demands of the dancer today.

Over the three days, participants will experience:
-Three contemporary technique classes with a focus on finding the balance between assessing, replicating, interpreting and becoming a participatory artist.  Classes will be taught by Brandon Welch, Julia Ehrstand and Aurélien Peillex.
- Repertory from LaneCoArts choreography.
- Three process building sessions where the participants collectively build movement ideas and learn collaborative compositional tools based on LaneCoArts working methods.
- A final, informal showing of repertory and projects created over the three days.
