Maya Kulkarni and Sonali Skandan present an evening of dynamic works that explore the boundaries and expansiveness of Indian Classical dance. Maya Kulkarni's Durga is a solo work created with Sonali Skandan that depicts the divine feminine energy of Durga, the fierce warrior who conquers the demon Mahishasura. Sonali Skandan’s new work The Elements explores the concept of the Pancha Maha Bhoota, or the five primordial elements, as the impact of climate change and human destruction shift the balance of nature.
