About the Work

Christopher Unpezverde Núñez’s new work is a collage of memories based on childhood experiences. It explores the male stereotypical behavior and the obsolescence of imposed masculinity in children. It’s a choreographic piece conceived to confront the stereotypes of masculine and feminine behaviors based on childhood experiences, poems, toys and philosophy.

Samuel Hanson’s new work will be a collaboration with writer/musician Alexander Ortega with whom Hanson also worked on boy at sea in 2009. “With Alex, I improved as a writer and learned about my own biases and my own desires around dance. Since then we have worked to reverse engineer a dance from a text. This dance is that attempt.”
