The Dance Collective at Brooklyn’s ShapeShifter Lab

The Dance Collective Rachael Guzick

The Dance Collective aims to empower female dancers and choreographers to give them a voice and an equal opportunity. On November 2nd at 7:00 p.m., The Dance Collective will take the space at Brooklyn’s ShapeShifter Lab. Audience members will be able to view professional contemporary dance in the round, with a bar conveniently located inside the theatre; setting the scene to create a more casual and immersive experience. Come join us and grab a drink while you sit back and enjoy the performance!

The Dance Collective at ShapeShifter Lab highlights the work of various female choreographers and dancers from across the United States. A bill consisting of solos, duets, and group pieces; dancers will take the space, captivating audience members with their storytelling movement. The choreographic artists that will be presenting are Rhamzi Burks, Fran Fuller & Jillian Foley, Marjorie Gross, Rosanna Karabetsos, Jane Krantz, Jessica Ray, and Michelle Thompson-Ulrich.

The Dance Collective, founded by Jillian Foley, provides performance opportunities for female dancers and choreographers to collaborate in diverse performance settings. The driving force behind Foley’s conception is that because of the vast amount of women in the dance world, women deserve more opportunities to dance, choreograph, and be leaders.

The Dance Collective will premiere their performance at ShapeShifter Lab, located at 18 Whitwell Pl, Brooklyn, NY 11215. Tickets are $15.00. You can purchase tickets at https://m.bpt.me/event/3627419. To learn more about The Dance Collective, you can visit www.thedancecollective.org.
