The Evolution of Separation

The Evolution of Separation Poster Image of Dancers Ashley Deran

The Evolution of Separation explores the evolution of humanity, beginning with our innate need for human connection and relationships.Through movement, we examine how touch, community, and shared experience have defined us from the very beginning. However, as technology has advanced, our focus has shifted—once rooted in physical presence, we now find ourselves increasingly immersed in digital content, often at the expense of genuine human interaction. The choreography reflects this transformation, contrasting raw, organic movement with more fragmented, isolated gestures, illustrating the tension between connection and disconnection. This piece serves as both a reflection and a question: In a world dominated by screens, how do we reclaim the essence of what makes us truly human?
