The Ringdove

The Ringdove Mike Majoros

Renowned puppet and maskmaker Ralph Lee brings his Mettawee River Theatre Company to the outdoor garden of St. John the Divine (where they are a company-in-residence) for "The Ringdove," drawn from The Panchatantra, a collection of allegorical tales whose origins reach back over 2,000 years to ancient India.  The production will incorporate a range of Lee's amazing masks, puppets and other visuals, operated by his ensemble of puppeteers/singers/actors.  There will also be original music, played live on sax, hammered dulcimer, vibraphone and percussion.   Lee's creations have been seen throughout the years at the Metropolitan Opera, Lincoln Center Repertory Theatre, NY Shakespeare Festival, and manymore - even Saturday Night Live (that naughty Landshark).
