Beth Jucovy premieres her new work at the SPARK Theatre Festival at the 28th St Theatre, NYC. There But by Fortune is a theatrical dance work incorporating live song that explores emotional and moral complexities of dependence, power dynamics, and manipulation, buffeted by the inequities of fortune and circumstance. The work invites audiences to question success and systems enabling exploitation, both within personal relationships and a broader social and political context. With Beth Jucovy and Louisa Armstrong-Harrison and a chorus of dancers including Tyler Brunson, Abby Dias, Anne Parichon-Buoncore and Susan Steinman as well as vocalist Farah Chandu and the Willow Women’s Choir.
*The development of this work is supported by Long Island Grants for the Arts through funds provided by the office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, and administered by The Huntington Arts Council.
