"Timeless Dances"

From Isadora Duncan's Schubert Symphony in C Anthony Pepitone

Dance Visions NY is delighted to present "Timeless Dances" for the Universalist Unitarian Congregation Shelter Rock, in the ballroom of Veatch House and outside the house, on the lawn.  For this program, the company will be presenting several works created this year, as well as company favorites tailored for these unique spaces.

Highlights include Isadora Duncan’s Tribute to Greek Gods, created to Schubert’s Symphony in C (the Great), and a chamber music rendition to Strauss's Roses from the South. Also featured are new Jucovy works. Earth Trilogy includes Isadora Duncan Dances of NatureDelicate Web, which illustrates the possible effects of climate change on humanity, and lastly Hymn, a prayer for the earth created to a Native American medley arranged for the dance by Farah Chandu and performed live by Willow Women's Choir.  The program also features Jolted Reverie, another new work, set to music of Beethoven and  percussionist Napoleon Revels Bey, who will play live at the concert along with pianist Paul Baserman.  Tangos, also created this year, is another featured work. Tangos includes duets, featuring one man and four women, and an enticing finalé, created to the stunning music of Astor Piazollo. Lastly is a contemporary yet classical work, Landscapes, set to classical Spanish guitar music.

Dancers: Louisa Cathcart, Ligia Gaissionok, Samuel Humphreys, Allbena Kervanbashieva, Beth Jucovy, Hope Kroog,  Rebekah Mulkey, Michelle Tilghman, Francis Walker with Ilene Isseks and Adele Lynn in "Delicate Web"
Pianist: Paul Baserman
