Undermine

Wendy Osserman Dance Courtesy Wendy Osserman Dance Company

Choreographer Wendy Osserman, who has been making unconventional and innovative work since the nineteen-sixties, premieres “Undermine,” a work for six dancers and live music. In her new piece, dancers Gary Champi, Lauren Ferguson, Joshua Tuason (known for his standout dancing with Stephen Petronio), Emily Vetsch, the eloquent former Merce Cunningham Company understudy, Cori Kresge, and Osserman herself search for antidotes to the current political turmoil, while catapulting off one another’s energy, peering into themselves and the imagined landscapes they encounter. Music Director Skip La Plante creates scores performed on traditional as well as home-made instruments by La Plante with guest artist, violinist Concetta Abate.  The program will conclude with Udjat, a trio made by Osserman in 1985, featuring Lauren Ferguson, Cori Kresge, and Emily Vetsch.
