The event at FiveMyles Gallery on Sunday, May 11 from 3:30 to 6:30 is grounded in the installation by Gibson + Recoder. In its midst you may find Lal Ensari reciting poems, or writing, or musing. DD+D will be showing two works episodically during the three hours: Vain Combat on the sidewalk in front of the Gallery, and Hesperides inside the Gallery. Though welcome to do so, visitors are not meant necessarily to sit and watch either of these dances. The event is comparable to a Gallery Opening, with activities to be noticed as you wander, have a glass of wine, and socialize. Therefore, we recommend that you use some of your day taking advantage of the proximity of two worthy institutions, Brooklyn Museum and Brooklyn Botanic Garden are walking distance from FiveMyles.
